Welcome aboard the beautiful sailing clipper Rode Swan from Dutch charter company Rederij Vooruit in the Netherlands! Book your sailing trip now!
Clipper Rode Swan first touched water in 1880 at the Rijker wharf in Rotterdam. This makes her the oldest ship of the fleet and we are more than proud to have her aboard.
Built to transport cargo upstream the Rhine, the Rode Swan was fitted with a fast hull to battle the river’s current. Today, this fast hull is to her advantage, as the ship loves to participate in sailing races and keeps finishing as one of the first every time.
The Rode Swan was turned into a charter ship in 1996. Skippers Vincent and Dorette will happily show you the best spots on the Wadden Sea, Lake IJssel and the Frisian Lakes.
A high railing and wide gangways make it a safe ship for sailing trips with the whole family. The deck invites you to fully enjoy the view over the Dutch waters, with a comfortable seating area placed on top.
In addition, a radio, cd-player, books and games are available in the cosy day room. You can turn up the central heating whenever it is too cold outside. In other words, the Rode Swan is an excellent choice for those who wish to sail off-season.
Each cabin has its own sink with hot and cold running water, central heating, a reading light and storage space. For your privacy and safety, all cabins have a lock.
The ship’s kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare your own snacks and meals. Here you can use a 6 burner stove, a large fridge, a freezer unit, 2 sinks and a beer tap! All necessary cooking utensils such as pots, pans, plates, glasses and cutlery can be found in the cabinets.
Besides 3 toilets, the Rode Swan also has 3 showers. This means the ship does not have to rely on a port for sanitary facilities and leaves the option of falling dry at all times.
All cabins with running water, all cabins with central heating.
