The Suydersee is a large clipper, built in the year 1906 to transport cargo.
When the need for transport vessels over water decreased, a massive overhaul in 2000 was due. All set to start a second career in charter business, she proudly sails her guests over the Wadden Sea, Lake IJssel and the Frisian Lakes since.
High railing and wide gangways go all around the ship’s deck and a comfortable seating area offers great views as far as the eye can see.
This makes the Suydersee a brilliant choice for those who wish to sail with small children.
A spacious day room offers entertainment such as a stereo set, a flatscreen television, a DVD-player, an on board library and lots of games. Central heating keeps the temperature up whenever it gets too chilly inside, meaning the Suydersee also raises its sails off-season.
The galley provides you with everything you need to make your own snacks and meals. Here, a gas stove, 2 fridges, a freezer unit, a dishwasher, a coffee machine and 2 sinks are at your disposal. The kitchen is also equipped with a range of pots, pans, plates, glasses and cutlery. A cosy bar invites you to sit down and relax, while serving a cold beer from the tap.
Each cabin has its own sink with hot and cold running water, a reading light and sufficient storage space for your bags and belongings. You can open a little port hole to let in fresh air and central heating warms the room when necessary.
The Suydersee has excellent on board sanitary facilities. Below deck, you can find 3 toilets as well as 3 showers.
All cabins with running water, all cabins with central heating.
