The traditional sailboats of Rederij Vooruit in the Dutch city of Harlingen take you on a sailing trip or sailing vacation you will not soon forget.
Explore UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea, Lake IJssel and the Frisian Lakes during a sailing week in the Netherlands. A great way to spend your family holiday!
Sunday 8 PM to Sunday 3 PM.
Friday 8 PM to Friday 3 PM.
At 8 PM, a welcome aboard the ship awaits.
We will sail to Vlieland the next morning, with a detour to the seals on the banks between Ameland and Terschelling. Vlieland has numerous sights to see and tons of activities to do, simply ask your captain the best spots on the island.
The next day, after breakfast, we head for Texel. Here you can learn everything about the Wadden in Ecomare or climb the Eierland lighthouse.
Next is Enkhuizen, where we suggest visiting the interesting open air Zuiderzeemuseum, for a dive into the maritime history of the Netherlands. After crossing the sluices of the Afsluitdijk, we will continue our trip on Lake IJssel. From Enkhuizen, we sail to Workum and after that return to the Wadden Sea. The skipper will then find a nice spot to fall dry, where you get to spend the night on a sand bank!
We turn the helm to Terschelling the following morning.
Around 3 PM on the last day of your trip, we will arrive in Harlingen again.
The captain and his crew will welcome you aboard at 8 PM.
We sail to Enkhuizen the next morning, where a visit to the Zuiderzeemuseum is highly recommended!
Also on the programme this week is Lelystad, known for the Batavia Wharf and its replicas of the ships Batavia and De Zeven Provinciën.
Workum then invites you to the Jopie Huisman Museum; a museum dedicated to the famous painter Jopie Huisman. Following the tour, sit down at one of the many restaurants in the city centre, for a drink or delicious local delicacies.
The Wadden Island Terschelling and Vlieland offer two wonderful days of falling dry, activities and sights.
We will moor in Harlingen around 3 PM on the last day of the trip.
