The bow barge Victoria-S first saw light in 1876, at a shipyard in the township of Roodevaart. In order to be able to transport cargo over the Dutch canals in the years to come, the ship was given a major rebuild in 1898. It was not until 1996 that this traditional barge got turned into a charter ship, with skippers Michael and Elske being her proud owners.
Step aboard the Victoria-S and check in for a wonderful sailing trip over the Wadden Sea, Lake IJssel and the Frisian Lakes!
Throughout the build, the aspects light, space and quality were important pillars. Needless to say the sizable day room has been given a luxurious interior, with plenty of comfortable couches to relax on. A radio, a cd-player, an extended library and a wide range of games will make your stay even more pleasant. Central heating will keep the room warm on chilly evenings, or when you choose to set sail during the colder months of the year.
The kitchen offers all necessities to make your own meals and snacks.
Below deck a large gas stove, a large oven, a fridge, a freezer unit as well as a coffee machine are available for use. Also cooking utensils, such as pots, pans, cutlery and glasses are to be found in the galley. Even a beer tap was placed, to really get the party started!
The cabins are fitted with bunk beds, each made with a mattress cover, a pillow and a pillow case. Duvets can be rented at Rederij Vooruit for € 15,00 a piece, or simply bring a sleeping bag or blanket. All huts are with hot and cold running water, central heating and 220V.
Also for your convenience are on board sanitary facilities. This means the ship does not have to be docked when nature calls. Below deck you will find 2 toilets as well as 2 showers.
All cabins with running water, all cabins with central heating.
