Averechts

Clipper Averechts first touched water in the year 1892. Like the majority of the ships that time, the Averechts was built to transport loads of cargo from one port to another. An extensive renovation in 1995 turned her into one of the finest charter boats sailing the Wadden Sea and Lake IJssel, and gained her multiple stars in ranking.

Sailing with the two-masted clipper Averechts is an experience to forever remember. A great sailing adventure awaits aboard this beautiful ship!

Aboard the Averechts

On deck, an inviting seating area offers outstanding views during your sailing trip. There is plenty of room to walk around or sit back and relax on the roof of the ship.

The day room is fitted with large tables and entertainment such as a guitar, lots of games, WiFi, a good stereo set and iPod-connection. Whenever it is too cold inside, the central heating will make sure there is a pleasant temperature below deck. This makes the Averechts an excellent choice for off-season sailing trips through the ever changing Dutch landscape.

All 30 beds are 2 meters long and made with mattress covers, pillow and pillow cases. Duvets can be rented at Rederij Vooruit, or simply bring your own sleeping bag. Each cabin has its own sink with hot and cold running water, central heating and a reading light.

While it is an option to let us deliver catering, the galley is well equipped with all necessary kitchen appliances. Here you can use a 6 burner stove, a large oven, 3 fridges, a freezer unit and 2 sinks. Also a range of assorted pots and pans, cutlery, crockery and glasses is at your disposal, so you can prepare your own meals after a day on the water. Don’t forget to tap yourself a cold one from the beer tap!

Also for your convenience are on board sanitary facilities. Below deck you will find 4 toilets as well as 4 showers.
