Welcome aboard the Hasselter barge Maxima from Dutch charter company Rederij Vooruit! Discover the beautiful Waddensea and Lake IJssel.
The traditional ship Maxima is a beautiful 1903 Hasselter barge. Little draft makes her a perfect ship to go and discover places where ships with deeper draft can not go.
A born sailor, Swedish skipper Olav Stig already once crossed the Atlantic Ocean by the early age of 17, sailing a boat he built himself. And that is exactly why the Maxima will definitely take you on an active and exciting adventure!
High railing and wide gangways surround the deck of the ship, which makes the Maxima a popular choice amongst our guest travelling with small children. To that, a tent covers the on deck seating area when rain should fall or shade is needed. You will have a great view over the Wadden Sea, Lake IJssel or the Frisian Lakes from wherever you sit.
Central heating can be turned up in the homely day room, which means off-season sailing trips are very well possible. Here, a radio, cd-player, an extensive board library and games are available to add to the sailing trip.
Each cabin has its own sink with hot and cold running water, a reading light and storage space for your bags and belongings. A little port hole can be opened for a breeze of fresh air and central heating keeps you warm when it gets too cold.
The ship’s kitchen below deck is equipped with everything you need to make your own meals during the trip. For your convenience, the galley offers a large stove, an oven, a fridge (200 litres) and a sink. Also all necessary cooking utensils such as pots, pans, plates, cutlery and glasses are there to use.
Sanitary facilities are on board, meaning the ship does not have to be docked in a port when you need to use the restroom. The Maxima has 2 toilets as well as 2 showers.
All cabins with running water, all cabins with central heating.
