It was in 1903 the Gouden Bodem first touched water. After a long and interesting career of sailing in transport, 1980 saw her overhauled to a luxurious charter ship that signed at Rederij Vooruit. A second remodeling in 1994 gave her the wonderful look she has today.

Aboard the Gouden Bodem

The deck is surrounded with a high railing and fairly wide gangways. This, together with a large seating area, offers great options as it comes to enjoying the outside and makes it an ideal ship when travelling with kids.

Central heating can be turned up in the homely day room, which means sailing trips are very well possible during the colder seasons. The available stereo set operates on Bluetooth, but also a cd-player and a guitar will bring the party to life. For those seeking to relax, games and books can be found in the day room.

The galley is equipped with all necessary cooking utensils, such as a stove, an electric oven, a fridge and a coffee machine. Of course pots, pans, plates, cutlery and glasses are also at your disposal. Should you, however, not feel like doing your own cooking, Rederij Vooruit will happily take care of all catering for you. Whether this concerns just lunch or even a full barbecue on deck!

All cabins are comfortably fitted with a sink with hot and cold running water, a small reading light and storage space for your personal belongings. To that, temperature can be adjusted by switching on the central heating.

Added to your convenience is the fact that the ship has excellent on board sanitary facilities. The Gouden Bodem has 2 toilets and 2 showers.
