The beautiful tjalk Ontmoeting was built in 1927.
It was 1970 that saw her turned into a charter ship, sailing the Dutch waters.
Little draft make this elegant lady the ideal ship to go and discover places where ships with deeper draft can not go.
Skipper Govert has been connected to the Ontmoeting for over 20 years.
He stood aboard this tjalk as a seaman and eventually bought his beloved ship in 2003.
Govert literally knows everything about the history of the Wads.
He often treats his guests to wonderful stories about the origin of the islands, while gently sailing his ship over the sea.
