About the Lauwerszee

The traditional clipper Lauwerszee left the wharf of Boot ten Vrijenban in 1915.

Skippers Aart and Anna became the owners of the Lauwerszee in 2012 and proudly sail this elegant lady over the Wadden Sea and Lake IJssel since.

The ship features excellent sailing qualities and of course the crew encourages you to lend a hand with sailing.
A beauty to see, she effortlessly combines her authentic character with today’s modern conveniences.

Aboard the Lauwerszee

The Lauwerszee offers a high railing surrounding the deck, wide gangways and plenty of space to sit and relax.
Perfect for a family vacation, the ship proves to be very popular amongst our guests.
A tent covers the comfortable seating area when rain should fall or when shade is needed, which means you can enjoy the outside during every type of weather.
In the cosy day room, you can find a radio, a cd-player, books and games and central heating keeps the temperature up whenever it is too cold to your liking.

On board of the Lauwerszee, a fully equipped kitchen provides you everything you need to prepare your own snacks and meals.
Here, a stove, an electric oven, 2 fridges, a freezer unit, dishwasher and a coffee machine are ready for use.
Cooking utensils such as pots and pans can be found in the cabinets, as well as plates, cutlery and glasses.

All cabins have their own sink with running water, a reading light and storage space for your personal belongings.
In addition, the rooms are refurbished with central heating and a little port hole can be opened to let in fresh air.

Sanitary facilities are placed on board, meaning the ship does not have to rely on a port when guests want to use the restroom.
For your convenience, the ship is fitted with 2 toilets and 2 showers.
